Naomi Carter Lindsey, of Meadowview, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 29, 2016. She was a lifetime member of the A.M.E. Zion Church of Meadowview and was a member of the Glade Spring Senior Center.
She was born to the late John and Daisy Carter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lindsey was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lindsey, and son, Lesie Lindsey.
She is survived by her children: Effie Mitchell of High Point, N.C.; Patricia Hanley of Rural Retreat, Va.; William Lindsey and wife Debra of San Diego, Calif.; and Warren Lindsey and wife Joyce of Meadowview; and George Watkins of Fort Washington, Md., whom she claimed as her special son; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at the Fairview Baptist Church, 532 Azalea Dr., Glade Spring, Va. 24340, with the Rev. Gaynell Heath and the Rev. Melvin Johnson officiating. Those wishing to attend the committal service will travel in procession from Fairview Baptist Church to Meadowview Cemetery following the funeral ceremony where James Fullen, Jeff Fullen, John Fullen, Rudolph Fullen, David Janell, and Milton Maiden will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, at Fairview Baptist Church prior to the funeral ceremony.
