Dateline: Meadowview, Va.- Nettie Frances McCracken Parris, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2015, at her home. She was born to the late Harrison McCracken and Hessie Greer McCracken on February 15, 1933, in Washington County, Va. She was a member of High Point Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Nettie was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Everett Parris; two brothers, Everett McCracken and Thomas McCracken; sister, Louise McVey; and a sister who passed in infancy, Anna Barbara McCracken. She is survived by her son, Billy Joe Parris and wife Teressa of Stuarts Draft, Va.; six daughters: Barbara Tawney of the home; Brenda Smith and husband George of Buckeye, W.Va.; Linda Surber of Marion, Va.; Kathy Echard and companion Robert of Big Springs, W.Va.; Janet Parris of the home; and Donna Smith and companion Tim of Marlinton, W.Va.; brother, Isaac McCracken and wife Dixie of Damascus, Va.; two sisters: Mary Pippin and husband Albert of Danville, Va. and Gladys Hodgson and husband Carl of Fredericksburg, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Tom Parris officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris McVey, R.D. McVey, Kate Sheets, Brandon Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Josh Smith, and Joey Tawney.
