Nettie “Pauline” Worley Norris, age 72, of Bristol, Tenn., passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Heaven has gained our beloved Pauline “Polly”, a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved being a Christian, family gatherings, and playing the guitar.
“Polly” was preceded in death by her husband, James Worley, Sr. (1982); and husband, Roy Norris (2007); parents, Noah and Pearl Cox (1994) (1998); brothers, Bill Cox (1996), Noah Cox, Jr.(Johnny) (1996), Sam Cox and wife, Brenda (2017)(2014).
Survivors include sisters, Jeweldeen Reed and husband, Robert “Bob”, of Mountain City, Tenn., Gloria Cox of Bristol, Tenn.; children: Dana Broome and husband, Mike, of Bristol, Va.; James Worley, Jr. and wife, Cathey, of Boston, Mass., David Worley and wife, Angela, of Bristol, Tenn.; Kim Ball and husband, Terry, of Meadowview, Va.; grandchildren: Matt Worley and wife, Brittany, of Glade Spring, Va.; Cody Ball of Meadowview, Va.; Lakin Ball of Shady Valley, Tenn.; great grandchildren, Hayden Worley, Adalynn Worley, and one on the way. Also several cousins, nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren also survive.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Herbert Bailey officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to convene at the funeral home by 12:20 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017, to travel in procession to Rhudy Cemetery where Cody Ball, David Cook, Mark Hyatt, Phillip Tate, and Matthew Worley will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to C.H.F. and C.O.P.D. Research.
