Norine Ruth Grubb

Abingdon, VA – Norine Ruth Trail Grubb, age 91, passed on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, VA. Norine was born and raised in Dublin, VA to the late Stanley and Addie Brewer Trail and moved to Abingdon in 1946. She and her family later moved to Hurricane, WV in 1969 and back to Abingdon in 1985. Norine was a charter member of Rich Valley United Methodist Church and served as the Treasurer for United Methodist Women for many years. She was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who made friends with everyone she met. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Gordon L. Trail. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 68 years, Wilmer L. Grubb; two sons, David B. Grubb of Spring Hope, NC and Dale L. Grubb and wife Carol of Bristol, VA; three daughters, Donna Jeanne Rotenberry and husband Harold of Abingdon, VA, Janet King of Clayton, NC, and Joyce Miller of Four Oaks, NC; ten grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held 12-1p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark B. McFadden officiating. Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park with Michael Trail, Dennis Trail, Curtis Trail, Wayne Morrison, Wesley McCall, Jason Kneble, Alex Brookover, Wayne Turley, Kenneth Worley, and Wiley Price serving as pallbearers.
