Opal New Orleans Osborne

Opal New Orleans Osborne of Georgetown, DE, formerly of Abingdon, VA, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Bayhealth Center in Milford, DE. She was 83.

Opal was born on May 2, 1929 in Raven, VA, to the late Jay and Virgie Proffitt Osborne. She was a housekeeper for Leland Memorial Hospital in Riverdale, MD where she retired. Opal enjoyed doing ceramics, sewing, and crocheting.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, "Bo" Chester H. Mink, and her second husband, John W. Heath, Jr. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Donna Bender and husband Kenneth of Harrington, DE; (4) grandchildren and their spouses William Bender and wife Erica of Harrington, DE, Christina Budzier and husband Brett of Leesburg, VA, Ruby Tucker of Charleston, SC, and Kendra Christian and husband Chase of Felton, DE; (9) great grandchildren Kyle, Natalie, Hayley, Karlee, Ethan, Mackenzie, Zoe, Evan, and Sasha; (2) brothers Paul Osborne of Abingdon, VA, and Fairley Osborne of Lebanon, VA; and a sister, Charlotte Compton of Front Royal, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Paul Price officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Richlands Presbyterian Church, 1301 2nd Street, Richlands, VA 24641.
