Pansy Ellen Grady

Pansy Ellen Puckett Grady, 83, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Saltville, VA on January 12, 1928 to the late Ira and Bessie Jackson Puckett. Pansy was a lifetime homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was known for her generosity and kindness shown to neighbors wherever she lived. She often visited shut-ins and prepared meals for those in need.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cecil Grady and a son, Charles Edward Grady. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

She is survived by six children; Ava Grady Glover and husband, Gene of Blountville, TN, Jeffrey Darrell Grady and wife, Debbie of Middleton, VA, Teresa Church and husband, David of Snow Camp, NC, Jana Grady Gross and husband, Cecil of Bristol, TN, Donald Grady of Bristol, VA and Rebecca Grady of Bristol, VA. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Taylor and husband, Bill of Manassas, VA and Dean Smith of Bristol, TN; one brother, Everett Puckett and wife, Margaret of Glade Spring, VA; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care shown to their mother by Dr. Bolick, Dr. Walker, the staff of 4th Floor West at Bristol Regional Medical Center and Amedisys Home Health Care of Lebanon, VA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Grady will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 2, 2011 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with David M. Rader, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Mahanaim United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be receiving friends at Farris Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 1, 2011.
