Patricia Ann Castle

Patricia "Patty" Ann Hord Castle, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA.

Patty was born in Cleveland Co. NC on October 28, 1940 to the late George and Juanita Bates Hord. Patty grew up in the Bristol area and graduated from Tennessee High School. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Patty recently retired from Acosta Brokerage Firm where she had worked for over 15 years. She enjoyed camping, beautiful flowers and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Castle; one daughter, Terri Amburn Thompson of Knoxville, TN; two sons, Chris Castle and his wife Missy of Emory, VA, Scott Amburn and his wife, Kim of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren, Kaelea Henderson, Caleb Amburn and Alex Amburn; a special cousin, Gerald Norman of Shelby, N.C.; and her step mother Mary Hord Robbins and husband Bill of Bristol, TN.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at 8:00 PM at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Sherrell Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to be at the cemetery by 12:50. Pallbearers will be Paul Worley, Bill Snodgrass, Charlie Meadows, Tom Watson, Bobby Ratliff, and Bob Henegar. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Wright and Ronnie King.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-3914.
