Patricia Eileen "Pat" Lester

Patricia Eileen “Pat” Lester, age 78, of Glade Spring, Va., passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021, at Elmcroft of Bristol.  Pat retired from the Washington County Virginia School System on July 1, 2006, from the payroll department.  Prior to that she served as secretary at Greendale and Glade Spring Elementary as well as in technology at the Central Office.  She was of the Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Edward L. “Edd” Lester; mother, Opal Venable; and sister, Brenda Wilson.   

Pat is survived by her daughter, Loretta Duncan and husband, Michael, of Fall Branch, Tenn.; son, Mark Allen Davenport, Sr. and wife, Barbara, of Abingdon, Va.; brother, Doug Thompson and wife, Brenda, of Bristol, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Megan Bise Hagy and husband, John, of Bristol, Va.; Mark Allen Davenport, Jr. of Chilhowie, Va.; Michael Anthony Davenport of Marion, Va.; Ashley Michelle Davenport of Chilhowie, Va.; Joshua Daniel Sorah and wife, Emily, of Fuquay, N.C.; and Stacy Renee Little and husband, Daniel, of Abingdon, Va.; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

A private funeral ceremony will be livestreamed on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. from the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Minister Ron Musick officiating.  The livestreamed service may be viewed by visiting https://www.farrisfuneralservice.com/services/live-stream.  A committal service will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.  A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. 

In accordance with Covid-19 restrictions, social distancing practices will be implemented, and face masks will be required for attendance.
