Abindgon, VA Patty Sue Taylor Scott, age 54, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at her home after a long illness. Pat was a blessed member of Cedar Bluff Church where she loved to praise, sing, and serve the Lord with her time, work, tithes, and love. She also loved working with the church youth, writing plays, making costumes, and play sets. Pat will forever be in the hearts and memories of her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Nettie Russell Taylor; sisters, Betty Kestner and Judy Roark; brother, Paul Taylor; nieces, Shirley Hawkins andNettie Hill; nephew, Johnny Casey; and three great nieces, Amanda Hill, Denice Tollett, and Jasmine Taylor.
Pat is survived by her husband of 24 years, Russell Scott; brothers, Jay Taylor and special friend Gloria, and Tim Taylor and wife Nancy; sisters, Ellen Canter and husband Ed, and Robin Doss; mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Brenda and Les Mulkey; father-in-law and step mother-in-law, Paige and Louann Scott; and several nieces and nephews whom each she cherished.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2016, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Ralph Vanover and Pastor Gary Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow in Rush Creek Cemetery with Dakota Taylor, Chase Taylor, Bobby Moore, Austin Spiva, Mike Taylor, and J.C. Taylor serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be J.J. Camper, Les Mulkey, Wayne Heath, Junior Roark, Randy Camper, Johnny Camper, Ed Canter, Eddie Heath, and members of Cedar Bluff Church.
