Paul Robert Jenkins, born on November 18, 1948, in Marion, Virginia, passed away on December 24, 2024, in Bristol, Tennessee. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who enriched the lives of everyone around him with his quiet and reserved demeanor.
Paul graduated from R.B. Worthy High School in 1968 and further pursued his education at colleges in Atlanta, Georgia, and Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon. His career included notable positions as a restaurant manager for Greyhound bus line in North Carolina and Tennessee, where he exhibited exemplary leadership and dedication. Additionally, he worked alongside his father at Jenkins Locksmith, a role that highlighted his commitment to family and hard work.
Extending his service beyond his career, Paul proudly served in the United States Army after being drafted in 1969. He demonstrated bravery and dedication during his time in Vietnam, a period that shaped many of his values and perspectives.
Paul had a passion for NASCAR, often cheering for his favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty. This interest reflected his love for competition and camaraderie, further showcasing the vibrant spirit he carried within him.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, George Jenkins II and Ruth Blackwell Jenkins.
He is survived by his loving sister, Elizabeth Repass, and his brother, John Jenkins, along with several nieces and nephews who cherished him dearly.
A visitation will take place on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Farris Funeral Service - Main Street Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Adam Blackwell officiating. The burial will take place following the ceremony at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Carter Jenkins, Christopher Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Jeffrey Jenkins, Landon Jenkins, Joe Repass, and Scott Jenkins. Honorary pallbearer will be Arthur Repass. Military honors will be provided by Marion VFW Post 4667 and Army National Guard Honor Guard at 2:00 PM.
