Pauline Zingary Hinchey Minnick was called home to the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2009. She was born April 5, 1929 in Washington County, VA to the late William and Clifton Caldwell Hinchey.
A loving and devoted wife and mother, Pauline cared deeply for her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and going to yard sales. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Jack Minnick, one son, Richard Minnick, one brother, Worley Hinchey, three sisters, Lucy Roe, Dorothy Stewart, and Gladys Snead.
Survivors include one son, David Minnick and his wife Tammy of Bristol; three daughters, Donna Roberts of Abingdon, Patsy McKee and her husband William of Glade Spring, and Teresa Stone and her husband Randy of Abingdon; two brothers Donald Hinchey and his wife Terri of Abingdon, and Charles Hinchey and his wife Rosanna of WV; her loving sister Mrs. Don (Shirley) Johnson of Abingdon; her special friend and companion Linda Robinson; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 7 PM at Farris Funeral Service-Main Street Chapel, 427 E. Main Street, Abingdon with Rev. Jerry Eggers officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until the time of the service.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11 AM at Knollkreg Memorial Park. The funeral procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 10:45 AM. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jim Denton and Dr. Jonathan Swank.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Valley Healthcare, Johnston Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Southwest VA for their attentive care to their mother during her illness.
