Peter Robert Price

Peter Robert Price, age 70, passed on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Peter was born and raised in Australia to the late Arthur John Price and Annie Louisa Drylie Price. He served 10 years in the Australian Navy where he earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer and also served in Vietnam. Mr. Price earned an Engineering Degree from Newcastle Technical College and later learned his trade as a boilermaker at Varley Engineering. Peter moved to the United States in 1988 after meeting his wife while she visited Australia. After moving to America, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, was a member of Kettlefoot Gun Club, and was an employee of Bristol Compressors for 13 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Tania Louise Price, and brother, Paul Price. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Teresa W. Price; daughter, Lisa Gai Price of Australia; brother, John (Elizabeth) Price of Australia; nephew, Paul Price of Australia; niece, Helen Jane Price Thompson of Australia; mother-in-law, Evelyn Widener of Marion, VA; and sister-in-law, Pamela (Richard) Dohrmann of Hendersonville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA, with Rev. Eugene Baldwin officiating. Entombment will follow in the Serenity Gardens Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Military Rites for ally country military branches will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be John Price and Paul Price. A reception will be held following entombment at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 246, Abingdon, VA 24212, or to the James E. Peters Chapter #57 of Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
