Phyllis Jeanette Bays Smith

Phyllis Jeanette Bays Smith, age 81, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Nita and Carlton Bays; and husband Ernie Smith.

Phyllis is survived by daughter, Stacey Smith of Alabaster, Alabama; son, Lee Smith and wife, Kathy of Opelika, Alabama; grandson, David Smith; and sister, Marlene Upchurch of Bristol, VA.

Phyllis retired from a lifetime of service at West Florida Regional Medical Center, Pensacola, Florida, as an obstetric nurse. Phyllis was a member of Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church, Bristol, VA.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church, 3012 Lee Highway, Bristol, VA 24202. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
