Rachel Casanova Perera of Pembroke Pines, Fla., passed away November 17, 2017 at the age of 85 years old. Raquel was born on November 21, 1931 in Guantanamo, Cuba to her loving parents, Benito Casanova and Carmen Segura. She was the beloved wife of Walfrido Perera for 57 years, and loving mother of Walfrido. Her late sister and brother-in-law were Sara and Kenneth Jackson of Bristol, Virginia.
Rachel worked as a CPA for many years before retiring. She enjoyed cooking and numbers, as she was an accountant. She was a very good friend especially to Cathy Demof, Olga Osario and the rest of The Latin Group. She was a member of The Latin Club of Park Place.
Walfrido and Raquel have been residents of South Florida since 1998, formerly of Seattle, Washington. A memorial service and graveside will be at Knollkreg Cemetery in Abingdon, Va.. Date and time are pending.
