Ray Allen Warner went from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 11:30 p.m. He was born in Akron, OH on February 17, 1926 to Tom and Grace Warner. He graduated from Houser High School in Akron and later from Goodyear Industrial Trade School, also in Akron, with honors. Ray spent two years in the Navy during World War II, after which he worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 41 years as a plant engineer.
In 1947, he married Jo Ann Patterson and together they had and raised four children.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Theresa, and his sister Norma. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann; his children, Bonnie, Peggy and Stanley; his sister, Marjorie; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Ray was a member of the Damascus Road Baptist Church, where he had many good Christian friends. Pastor John Massey, Jr. was a frequent visitor in the home. The family wishes to thank some very special friends Randall Parris, Jim Cook and James Gilland for all they did during Ray's time of illness. Also, his grandson Joseph Allen Wells, who lives in Atkins, VA, was a great help, always being there when he was needed.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Damascus Road Baptist Church with the Reverend John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 -2:00 p.m., Saturday at the church. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Parris, Jim Cook, James Gilland, and Joseph Wells.
