Abingdon, VA – Ray Edward Jackson, Jr., age 70, passed on Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Wellmont Hospice House. Ray was a member of Abingdon Church of Christ and was employed at Light’s Milling Company for 36 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray Edward Jackson, Sr. and Katherine Carr Jackson; and one brother, Danny Jackson. He is survived by two sons, Michael (Florence) Jackson of Abingdon, VA and Jim Jackson of Bristol, VA; four brothers, Curtis Jackson of Abingdon, VA, Jerry Jackson of Bristol, TN, Gary (Barbara) Jackson of Abingdon, VA, and David (Lisa) Jackson of Damascus, VA; two sisters, Mary Jane (Jeff) Allen of Seattle, WA, and Phyllis (Roger) Brown of Richlands, VA; and four grandchildren, Troy Huskins, Brittany Huskins, Nicole Jackson, and Kimberly Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2014, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Mr. Joe Scroggin and Minister Bill Haywood officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
