He was a member of Grace Pointe Church of God.
A man of deep faith, Ray loved the Lord profoundly. He enjoyed church fellowship and to witness for his Lord. His enthusiasm for life was complemented by his hobbies, which included operating a barbershop in his home, where friends would gather for a haircut every Saturday, fostering connections and camaraderie. Additionally, he loved to spend time fishing, doing yardwork and raising a garden.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by five brothers, Walter White, James White, John White, Elton White, and Charles White; two sisters, Nancy Taylor and his twin Thelma "Mae" White.
Ray is remembered by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Blevins, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage. Their bond was a testament to love and commitment, and together they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and faith. Their three children, Raymond "Bo" White and wife, Debbie of Franklin, VA; Janet Tammeste and husband, Henry of Bristol VA; and Jo Ann Taylor and Husband, Darryl of Abingdon VA; sister-in-law, Mildred White of Fremont, OH; five grandchildren, Patricia, Jessica, Beki, Alex and Justin; and two great grandchildren, Daniel and Ella; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Jackie, Pat, the staff at NHC of Bristol and Caris Hospice.
