Raymond Earl Spencer, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II as a Navy pilot. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Pickaway, WV, a member of the Monroe Masonic Lodge # 77, and a member of the Beni Kedem Shrine Temple. As a retired Agricultural Extension agent, he received a B.S and M.S. from West Virginia University. Raymond served as Director for the Northern States, Agricultural Extension Agents and he was a member of Ruritan, Monroe, Co. Cattleman's Association and WV Farm Bureau. He also enjoyed farming and hunting.

He was born to the late Okey Earl Spencer and Irene Rapp Spencer on July 28, 1923 in Gallipolis, OH. He is also preceded in death by his son, Ron Spencer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Isabelle Mae Smith Spencer; two daughters, Barbie Leong and husband Ambrose of Bristol, VA and Judy Merritt of Abington, MD; daughter-in-law, Linda Spencer of Wheeling, WV; sister, Marjorie Quast of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren, Heather Holmes, Erica Spencer, Valerie Blankenship, Andrea Kirk, Spencer Leong, and Millie Leong; four great grandchildren, Guthrie, Ashley, Elena, and Lauren; and his friends at Grand Court Assisted Living.
