Raymond White, age 59, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Monday, October 8, 2012. Mr. White loved bluegrass music and enjoyed playing his fiddle. He also worked at American Furniture Company and is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Oliver White and Mary Alice Cooper White, two brothers, Clyde White and Carson White, and one sister, Alice Wilcox.
He is survived by two daughters, Jessica White of Meadowview, VA and Angie White of Glade Spring, VA; two brothers, Roger White of Meadowview, VA and Eugene White of Abingdon, VA; three sisters, Nell Powers of Dungannon, VA, Ruth Rogers of Goodview, VA and Jennie Gray of Martinsville, VA; several nieces, nephews and close friends.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Temple Hill Cemetery in Castlewood, VA with Paul Price officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Strouth, Daryn Strouth, Josh Tuggle, Michael Umbarger, James McCune and Darian Henderson.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Family and friends wishing to go in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home by 2:00 P.M. Thursday.
