Richard Lee Fields

Abingdon, Va.

Richard Lee Fields, age 84, passed away on December 13, 2022, in Abingdon. He was born on November 19, 1938, to the late Elbert Fields and Phoebe Perkins Fields.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Fields.

Richard is survived by his two sisters, Denna Pierce and Mary (Jose) Rodriguez and brother, Darius (Dreama) Fields.

Richard loved the Creeper Trail, spending hours sitting on a bench, enjoying a picnic lunch and talking to all that he knew. He also enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He worked for Johnston Memorial Hospital until his retirement. During his time there he won the award for perfect attendance many times.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service from 1:30 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
