Richard Gaminde, age 83, of Bristol, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born on March 1, 1934, in Bartley, W. Va., he was the son of the late Pedro and Felisa Gaminde.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Pedro Gaminde, Augustine Gaminde, Joe Gaminde, and Raymond Gaminde. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vareda Davis Gaminde; five children: Venita Ann Gaminde; Richard David Gaminde and wife, Diana; Timothy Mark Gaminde and wife, Debra; Ramona Gaminde Harr and husband, Jon; and Jon Andrew Gaminde and wife, Stephanie; nine grandchildren, Leslie, Joshua, Jessica, Megan, Austin, Allison, Evan, Madison, and Jonathan; one great-grandchild, Wyatt; and two sisters, Felisa Gaminde Blankenship and Mary Lou Gaminde.
He was a resident of Iaeger, W. Va. for twenty-three years as the owner-operator of Southern CATV. He moved to Bristol, Tenn. in 1978 where he resided until his death.
Two of his greatest joys were time with his family and his involvement as a minister at the following Churches of Christ: Hardy, Maple Grove, Kelsa, Macedonia, Weaver Branch, and Painter Creek.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the Painter Creek Church of Christ, 24579 Green Spring Rd., Abingdon, Va. 24211, with Minister Ed Lockard and Minister Jerry Bliffen officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Dickie Davis, Charles Walker, Joshua Gaminde, Austin Harr, Evan Harr, Jonathan Gaminde, Ryan Stiltner, and Avery Stollings will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be on Friday, January 12, 2018, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the church.
