Richard Wayne Ihle, known to his loved ones as Rich, passed away on February 2nd, 2024, at the age of 56 in Bristol, Virginia. He was born on January 5th, 1968, in Baltimore, Maryland. Rich was a beloved husband, a doting grandfather, and a cherished member of his community.
Rich had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. He had a warm and inviting personality that endeared him to everyone he met. He was known for his quick wit and infectious laughter, which brought joy to those around him. Rich was a loving husband to his wife Connie, and a devoted dad to his sons, Alex and Matthew.
His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his grandchildren. Rich adored his granddaughter, Elana, and grandsons, Noah and Mason. Whether it was playing games, snuggling watching tv, or simply sharing a meal together, Rich cherished every moment spent with his grandkids.
Aside from his family, Rich had a passion for football and cars. He loved watching football games, cheering on his favorite teams, and engaging in friendly rivalries with friends and family. Rich was also a car enthusiast, and took pleasure in working on cars and keeping them in top condition. In addition, he enjoyed spending time in his yard, working on his tractor and creating a beautiful outdoor space.
The Ihle family will be forever grateful for the love and support they have received during this difficult time. Rich is survived by his beloved wife, Connie, his sons, Alex and Matthew, his granddaughter, Elana, his grandsons, Noah and Mason, his sisters, Dina Nicolaides (Nick) and Cathy Jones, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ihle and Nancy Keesee, as well as his brother, Dennis Dorton.
The family requests a visitation at Farris Funeral Service Forest Hills Chapel on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 5:00PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Les Ketron will be officiating. The interment ceremony will take place in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers include Alex Mays, Matthew Mays, Jordan Sergent, Jacob Bowman, Jonathan Jones, and Eric Hodge.
Rich will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His infectious laughter, kind heart, and genuine love for his family will forever be remembered.
