Richard Thurman Kiser, age 67, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. He was born in Abingdon, Virginia to Willis Thurman Kiser and Georgia Lee Whitlow Kiser on December 19, 1955. Richard enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and traveling the country in his motorhome. During his career as a truck driver, he spent life seeing the country and continued that in his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his brother, David Kiser; brother-in-law, David Arden; paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Cleo Kiser and his maternal grandparents, Morton and Virginia Whitlow.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister, Denise K. Arden; brother, Roger Kiser and wife Susan; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and several aunts and uncles.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, VA with Pastor David Robins officiating.
