Richard Leonard

Richard Lee Leonard, known affectionately as Rick, was called home to be with his Lord and loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to his family.

Rick was preceded by his wife Sandra Elizabeth Pope Leonard and his father English Walker Leonard Jr. 

Rick is survived by his two sons, Justin Leonard and Shayne Leonard, along with his daughter-in-law Alycia Leonard. His presence will forever be cherished by his four grandchildren: Ava, Isaiah, Natalya, and Tessa Leonard. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Strong Leonard, his fiancé Vanessa Justus, two brothers Darrell and Randy Leonard, and two sisters Pamela Lankford and Jennifer Corn, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and non-blood-related family members.

Rick was a man of few words but abundant in actions that reflected his undeniable love for his family. Known for his wisdom, consistency, and a leadership style based on example, he embodied the teachings of Christ in his interactions with others.

A provider, a man of action, and a steadfast rock, Rick was someone on whom you could always depend. His work family, friends, and kin will forever cherish the memory of a man who lived a life of love and dedication. As we mourn his passing, we also strive to honor the remarkable legacy he leaves behind, a legacy that will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, 6:00 pm-8:00pm at Farris Funeral Service-Main Street location. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 1pm at Farris Funeral Service with Gary Roark officiating. The committal service will follow the funeral at Pope Cemetery, family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
