Richard Whittington Miller

d. December 21, 2015

Kingsport, TN

Richard (Dick) Whittington Miller, age 79 passed away December 21, 2015 after fighting a brave battle with a prolonged illness. He was born December 19, 1936 in Bonifay, Florida.

Dick embraced life to the fullest. Nothing brought a smile more to his face than being out on the water fishing. He could not drive by a lake or river and not be tempted to pull over and see what is biting today. That spark of love and enthusiasm spilled over to all aspects of his personal and professional life. He put his all in everything he did and he loved every challenge that came his way. He found pleasure in the simplest things like being out on the water and among nature. He truly had a passion for life that was contagious to all whom he came in contact with. He took wonderful care of his family and friends. He loved life and all that it offered.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia E. Miller, his daughter, Leslie D. Miller; brother-in-law Bill English and wife Mary; 5 nieces Beth Smith, Gail Oliver, Julie Morris, Gina Kennedy, and Jan Averett. He is also survived by Marilyn Weber who was a devoted caregiver who stood by him during his last years of life.

Memorial Services are to be held on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the Central Presbyterian Church; Bristol, VA.
