Richard Henry Williams, age 75, passed on November 25, 2023 at his home.
Richard H. Williams, born September 16, 1948 in West Virginia, was a beloved member of the Abingdon community. Richard was a small business owner, that began in Grundy, VA, where he also taught school and coached.
He later moved to Abingdon, VA to raise his two children, Morgann Williams and Ryan Williams. He also wanted to be closer to his family, which included his Mom, Edna, his brothers, Ray and Gene, his nieces, Trish and Breanna, and his nephews, Andy, Greg, Chris and David Ray. During Richard’s long and extensive career, he made many relationships in the local area and made a positive impact on everyone who he came in contact with.
He loved many, and was also loved by many. Richard enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as hunting, fishing, sipping coffee on the porch watching the birds, anything he could do to enjoy God’s creation. Richard was also a devoted member to the Macedonia Church of Christ, where he served as a best friend, hunting buddy, a second dad, anything you needed him to be, he was. It truly is an unimaginable thing to lose someone as kind, loving, and precious as Richard. Though, we find solace knowing that he spent his life devoting everything to Christ, and that he has finally achieved his ultimate goal. His place in heaven, where we will meet with him again.
