Robert Hill, III (Bobby) departed this life on February 28, 2016 at the New York Presbyterian Cornell-Weill Medical Center after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Bobby was the first of six children born to the late Robert Hill, Sr. and Elizabeth Johnson Hill. In addition to his mother his memory will be cherished by wife Lynn Montoya, Brothers Dennis Hill, Jerry Hill, Maurice Hill (Judy) and sisters Shelia Hill and Ann Hill; two brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Bobby was born in Glade Spring, VA, attended Frederick Douglass High School in Bristol, VA and graduated from Patrick Henry High School and Emory Henry College with a degree in History and Art. He always had a heart for people and at an early age spent time mentoring and providing leadership to youth in the neighborhood. His passion was to bring about social justice and equality for marginalized people.
A Celebration of Life to honor Bobby Hill will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Abingdon Senior Center at 11:00 a.m. The center is located at 300 Senior Drive, NE, Abingdon, VA.
