Robert C. "Junior" Loyd, Jr

Abingdon, VA – Robert C. “Junior” Loyd, Jr., age 70, passed on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at his home. Junior was a truck driver for over 30 years and was considered a “prince among men”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. “R.C.” Loyd, Sr. and Addie Virginia Ellison Loyd, and siblings, Johnny N. Loyd, Brenda Loyd Vestal, Charles Loyd, and Maryland Mae Loyd.

He is survived by two brothers, Tony Loyd of Abingdon, VA and Terry Loyd and wife Kathy of Meadowview, VA; and son, Kenneth Mitchell of Alvarado, VA.

Visitation with the family will be held 1-2 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2022, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Junior Gobble officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with John Southerland, Steve Henagar, Danny Widener, Tim Taylor, Dereck Penley, and Brad Loyd serving as pallbearers.
