He greatly enjoyed his off work travels. He read any newspaper, the New York Times being his favorite. He served as a Boy Scout Troop Leader for his sons. Periodic long weekends Boy Bonding with his sons were priceless. He enjoyed his Book Club. He hiked the Appalachian Trail and the Creeper Trail. He served on the Friends of the Library and volunteered with the Literacy Program. He read ferociously and enjoyed poetry. He was a fan of public broadcasting and liked to listen to jazz. He enjoyed beating his family at Bocce Ball and card games. He was a long time disappointed Minnesota Vikings Fan for whom there never enough cookies or rhubarb pies. He played a game of cards weekly with his wife for Boss of the Week, sadly he was not always Boss of the Week.
