Robert E. Sullins, Sr, 72, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 18, 2009 in Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 3, 1937 in Washington County and was a son of the late Charles and Virginia Gobble Sullins. He was an honorary board member of Bristol Little League and Sullins Plumbing has sponsored a little league team for 27 years. He was a member of Valley Drive Baptist Church and had attended Bethel Independent Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Erby Sullins.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Sullins; his children, Delores Duff of the home, Robert Sullins, Jr. and wife, Cathy of Bristol, VA, Randy Sullins of the home, Mark Sullins and wife, Nancy of Bristol, VA, and Chris Sullins and wife, Christy of Bristol, VA; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Dollar and husband, Harold of Chilhowie, VA; four brothers, John Sullins and wife, Danna of Bristol, TN, Ronnie Sullins and wife, Lorraine of Glade Spring, VA, Frank Sullins and wife, Ann of Abingdon and Larry Sullins and wife, Dawn of Abingdon. A host of friends and other family members also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 21, 2009 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Johnny Dillard officiating. Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon.
Pallbearers will be Chris Sullins, Dylan Sullins, Adam Sullins, Greg Sullins, Mark Sullins, Doug Sullins and Rick Sullins. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Sullins and Terry Crusenberry.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Farris Funeral Service.
