Robert Douglas Hensley

Robert Douglas Hensley, Sr., age 71, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Ballad Hospice House.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bascom Campbell Hensley and Alice Elizabeth Adams Hensley; wife of 54 years, Delores Jean Snedegar Hensley; brothers, Vernoy, Kenny, and Dallas Hensley; sisters, Fayetta Williams, Goldie Roark, Lucille Jones, Linda Hensley, and Kathy Hensley; and grandson Chad Belcher.

He is survived by his son Robert Hensley, Jr. (Rebecca) of Quinten, Virginia and daughter Chantelle Hensley (Allen Jessee) of Abingdon, Virginia; five grandchildren, Shaun Hensley, Jacob Hicks, Cody Belcher Karissa Hensley and Sara as well as three great grandchildren; brother, Randy Hensley (Debbie), and Lester Neal Hensley; sister, Beverly Bailey (Barry); brother-in-law, Roger Snedegar; sister-in-law, Darlene Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 1 – 2 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Valley View Freewill Baptist Church on Spoon Gap Road in Abingdon, Virginia.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Brandon Hensley officiating.  Pallbearers will be grandsons and family and friends.
