Robert Preston Miller, Jr.

Meadowview, VA – Robert Preston “R.P.” Miller, Jr., age 70, passed on Monday, July 20, 2015, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. R.P. was a 1963 Graduate of Patrick Henry High School and was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church. He and his wife owned and operated Miller’s Market Deli and Trucking in Meadowview for many years. Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Preston Miller, Sr. and Clara Widener Miller. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia Miller; son, Robbie Miller and wife Susan of Simpsonville, SC; daughter, Jennifer Kimbler and husband William of Bristol, VA; sister, Nancy Runyon and husband Bob of Roanoke, VA; and two grandsons, Brennon Kimbler and Ian Miller. Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Somers officiating. A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Greenfield Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Carter, Phyl Snapp, Brennon Kimbler, Ian Miller, Bobby Miller, and Vernie Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Casey, Gary Short, Marty Clawson, Gary Hammer, Mike Stigers, and friends and neighbors. Those wishing to travel in procession are asked to convene at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. on Friday The family would like to extend special thanks to the ICU staff at Bristol Regional Medical Center and to Dr. Vardhana for their wonderful care.
