Robert Raymond Woods

Abingdon, VA – Robert Raymond Woods, age 77, passed on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Grace Health Care. Raymond was a life-long native of Washington County having lived most of his life in the Brumley Gap Community. He worked as a welder and a millwright for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Mary Gladys Henderson Woods; wife, Hassie Irene Wright Woods; four brothers, Kenneth, Sherman Jim, Samuel, and Lewis Woods; and one sister, Lillian Woods Mitchell. He is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Jereleen Woods, Shirley Nideffer, and Wilma Gobble and husband Melvin, all of Bristol, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Dennis Burnette officiating.
