Robert Blake Williams, age 84, passed away on October 13, 2024 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. He was born in Marion VA to the late Brainard Williams and Nell Wampler Williams.
Robert dedicated 34 years of his life to the profession of pharmacy, where he was known not only for his expertise but also for his kind and welcoming nature, which made all those around him feel at ease. He was a graduate of Stanton Military Academy, he furthered his education at Virginia Tech before graduating from the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy, laying the foundation for a long and fulfilling career in the healthcare field following in his father's footsteps.
Beyond his professional life, Robert had a passion for hobbies that brought him joy and satisfaction. Introduced to the world of model train collecting by his father during childhood, he maintained this beloved interest throughout his life. Additionally, Robert was an avid gardener, nurturing both vegetable and flower gardens, and he took pride in landscaping his home. His enthusiasm for nature extended to birdwatching, a pursuit that allowed him to connect with the environment he cherished deeply. He and his wife, Jane, shared a love of travel, which further enriched their lives together.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jane Bare Williams.
Robert is survived by his sisters, Anne Williams and Jane Burks and family, as well as his brothers-in-law, David Bare, Bo Bare, Tim Bare, and Robin Bare and their families. He is also remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews who were fortunate to share in his life.
A graveside service on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 11:00 am at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, located at 19415 Lee Hwy in Abingdon, Virginia with Rev. Jerry Eggers officiating.
Robert Blake Williams will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
