Roger Cuddy

Roger Franklin Cuddy, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Ballad Hospice House in Bristol. Roger was born on May 31, 1950 in Grigsby Hospital in Bristol, VA to the late Edward L. Cuddy and Ethel B. Cuddy. He graduated from John S. Battle High School in 1970; following graduation Roger worked for Bristol Automotive. He retired from Goodpasture Motor Company, after 30 + years working as parts manager. He attended Friendship Baptist Church. Roger enjoyed outdoors, spending time with his horses, his beagle puppies, Ringo and Hope and his German Shepherd, King. Some of Roger’s favorite times were eating out with his friends and talking with his buddies when they would stop by his barn to visit. He had a great sense of humor and was a prankster.

Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Janice Bostic Cuddy; his sister, Jane Cuddy, and several cousins. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews; his great-nieces and great-nephews were his pride and joy.

The family would like to express their appreciation to their friends and neighbors for the kindness shown to them during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 7:00 pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Dennis Burnette and Ken Osborne officiating. The burial will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Those attending the burial are asked to be at the cemetery by 1:45 pm on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Jody Bostic, Scotty, Bostic, Jim Hutton, Justin Hutton, Ralph Jackson, Steve King, Milton Worley, Leon Duckett, Jerry Nash, Randy Malone, and Bobby Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Men of Friendship Baptist Church.
