Roger Jackson, a hardworking individual who dedicated several years to the farming industry, has sadly passed away on January 7, 2024, in Abingdon, VA. He was born on June 14, 1952, in Maryland. Roger's passing is mourned by his loving family and friends.
Throughout his life, Roger was known for his tireless efforts in the farming community. His commitment and passion for his work were unmatched. As a skilled farmer, he tirelessly tended to the land, ensuring its productivity year after year. His dedication and strong work ethic served as an inspiration to those around him. Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping out. He was a member of Adoration Church in Bristol VA.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Brad and Alice Jackson; two brothers, Gary Jackson and Rodney Jackson; and step-daughter, Brenda Carrol.
He is survived by his wife Betty Ruth Spiva Jackson; one daughter, Jennifer Jackson; two grandchildren, D'Shawn and Stephanie; two brothers, Joseph Jackson and Preston Jackson; and two sisters, Frances Counts and Elizabeth "Liz" Pakacki. Roger's caring nature extended beyond his blood relatives. He was embraced by an extended family through marriage. Linda Jones (Raymond), Mary Bailey (James), William Berry, and David Berry, all step-children, welcomed him into their lives with open arms. Keshia Buttry, step-granddaughter, held a special place in Roger's heart. Additionally, he leaves behind several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever remember his kindness and love.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm.at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 19391 Bethel Rd, Abingdon, VA 24211. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to be at the cemetery by 12:45 pm.
