Roger Lee Wood

Abingdon, Va.

Roger Lee Wood, 45, passed on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.  Roger lived most of his life in King’s Mountain, N.C. before moving to Abingdon in 2004.  He was a member of Damascus Road Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter for many years. 

Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Hillard Wood and Virginia Dare Brackett Wood and Keith Wood; and brother, Mike Wood. He is survived by his wife, LaDonna Austin Wood; children, Jazlyn Raquel Wood and Luke Austin Wood; brothers, Barry Lee, Chris Shane, and Timothy “Jock” Wood; sister, Teresa Diane Stone; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pauline and Donnie Austin. 

Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. John E. Massey, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Sullivan Family Cemetery on Indian Creek Road, Duty, Va. There will be no procession to the cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers will be James Boardwine, Jim Anderson, James Wyatt, Art Lebo, Don Rosenbaum, Caleb Holeman, and Spike Nickles.
