Roger Bryan Mullins

Roger Bryan Mullins, age 81, of Abingdon, VA passed away on Saturday July 20, 2024 at Bristol Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 12, 1942 in Dickenson County, VA to the late Robert Estil Mullins and Opal Fern Sauls Mullins.

Roger was a graduate of Abingdon High School class of 1961. Roger went on to have a long career of thirty years at Flav-O-Rich in Bristol, VA where he was in sales. After his retirement from the dairy industry, he went on to work at Kiser Furniture in Abingdon, VA.

Roger never knew a stranger. He would always find a way to strike up a conversation. He loved to tell stories of his life growing up. Roger was a strong-willed individual, but wouldn’t hesitate to help anyone in need. Roger held many roles husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather, in each of these roles he will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brother Gary Mullins.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years Brenda Sue Barnes Mullins; four children Lisa Mullins, Terisa Mullins Gobble (Brad), Bryan Mullins (Angela Cramer), Rebecca Mullins Helms (Todd); sister Jane Dixon; six grandchildren, Sean Devlin, Sarah McConnell (Matt), Denise Gobble, Jennifer Tignor (Steven), Bridget Helms, Reagan Helms; six great-grandchildren, Mataya, Ezra, Atticus, Liam, Carther and Maverick; several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be on Thursday July 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens 19415 Lee Hwy Abingdon, VA 24210 with Rev. Bill Bryan officiating.
