Ronald Eugene Frazier, age 63, devoted husband, father, brother, and best friend to many passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born to the late Paul Frazier and Margaret Pickett Frazier in Bluefield, West VA. He was a 1969 graduate of John Battle High School. He worked at VDOT in Bristol for 37 years until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of Chilhowie Baptist Church. Ronnie was known for his love of people and his compassion for others. He loved cooking and grilling. He had a passion for antique cars and trucks and enjoyed listening to 50's and 60's music. He was instrumental in organizing the many Class of '69 reunions.
He is survived by a wonderful family that he loved. Left to cherish his memory is his wife and best friend for 28 years, Phyllis Crutchfield Frazier; two sons, Chris Frazier and Josh Frazier; daughter, Brande Doss; granddaughter, Taylor Doss; father-in-law, Phillip "Cotton" Crutchfield; sister, Linda Mathes and husband Ronnie; nephew, Little Ronnie; lifelong friend, "Babygirl" Mabel Lamie; three special aunts, Imajean Ingle, Rachel Cook, and Mary Adams; and uncle, Bill Pickett. There were many friends among us and he was truly the BEST!
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m, Tuesday, at the Forest Hills Chapel with Pastor Chuck Herrell and Pastor Scott Price officiating. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Jeremy Doss, Michael Foy, Pete Lamie, Ronnie Mathes, Ronnie Paul Mathes, and Chuck Odum will serve as pallbearers.
