Damascus, Va. – Ronald Clayton Colley, age 65, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Ronnie was born September 28, 1955 in Washington D.C. before moving to Southwest Virginia, where he graduated from Haysi High School.
Ronnie attended Berea College before starting his career as a Master Electrician and HVAC Technician. He loved music and played guitar. He also enjoyed fishing, was an avid reader, and was well-versed in trivia. Most of all, Ronnie loved his family.
In addition to his father, Clayton Colley, Ronnie was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Sonia.
He is survived by his mother, Rene Colley; one son, Aaron Colley and wife Brittany; two daughters, Talena Leonard and husband Darrell, and Tyra Kiser and husband Shawn; four sisters, Kathleen Slusher, Melani Dove and husband Jack, Sandra Childress and husband Randy, and Jennifer Belcher; seven grandchildren, Kain, Maisie, Keira, Ava, Aubree, Clayton, and Samuel; and several special nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 12:00 noon, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, with Preacher Randy Childress officiating. A visitation with family and friends will follow the funeral service. Interment will take place at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Shawn Kiser, Darrell Leonard, Paul Owens, Randy Childress, and Jack Dove receive special recognition as honorary pallbearers.
As always for all events, Covid-19 guidelines will be followed, which includes wearing of masks, social distancing, and adherence to occupancy rules.
