On April 17, 2010, Rosia Taylor went to her new home after a long illness. She died in her home. She was born in Washington Co. Va and lived in the Tumbling Creek area before moving to Abingdon. She was a proud member of the Abingdon Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kyle P. Taylor. One son, Larry Taylor and wife Gina and his son Jason. One daughter, Sally Pennings and husband Simon and their children, Alexis, Connor, Grant, and Lucas.

She was the eighth daughter of ten children by Guy and Susie Harris. Her surviving siblings include John Q. Harris of Cascade, Va; Maxie Nolavon O'Quinn of Saltville; Hugh Harris of Abingdon; Bill and wife Nellie Harris of Saltville and Curtis and wife Lola Harris of Saltville. She was preceded in death by her sisters Evelyne Anderson and Nannie Sheppard and brothers Bascom Harris and Frank Harris.

The family will receive friends at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon on Monday, April 19, 2010 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service and committal will be conducted on Tuesday, April 20 at 2:00 pm also at the Forest Hills Chapel with Minister Bill Haywood officiating.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Curtis Sword, Nub Bowers, Ralph Jackson and David Alley.
