Roy Crenshaw Grubb, age 91, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at his home. He was a World War II Veteran of the Army Air Force and attended Washington Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was born to the late Charles "C.W.C." Grubb and Willie Benona Crenshaw Grubb. He is also preceded in death by four brothers, Wilson Grubb, Andrew Grubb, George Grubb, and William Grubb; three sisters, Reba Grubb, Belle Logan, and Lula Mae Freeman.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Rosa Lee Grubb; one son, David Grubb and wife Barbara of Abingdon, VA; two brothers, Gilbert Grubb of Abingdon, VA and Ernest Grubb and wife Carolyn of Bristol, TN; one sister, Katherine Davenport and husband Jack of Kingsport, TN; sister-in-law, Edith Grubb of Knoxville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Larry Lusk and Pastor Mark McFadden officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Highlands Veterans Honor Guard will present Military Honors. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Hagy, Jeff Hagy, Jeff Grubb, Bobby Thomas, Eric Fleenor, and Frank Sullins. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Weaver, Bill DeBord, Cliff Martin, and David Henderson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice of Southwest Virginia, especially nurses Sherry Hall and Sandra Pierce for their excellent care. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
