Chilhowie, Va. – Ruby Faye Goff Spencer, age 75, of Meadowview, Virginia, passed away at Valley Healthcare Center, on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. She was one of eleven children, born November 17, 1945, in West Virginia, to the late Samuel and Easter Shrewsbury Goff.
Ruby dedicated her life as homemaker for her family. She also loved reading her Bible, cooking, and writing encouraging notes and letters. She especially loved the Lord and faithfully attended church as long as her health permitted. She had a caring heart for helping people however she could with her prayers, time, and energy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost fifty years, Zanic Spencer; and several brothers and sisters.
Ruby is survived by one son, Richard Spencer; two daughters, Tammi Carter, and Angie Humphrey and husband Jackie; four sisters, Christine Stanfied, Nora House, Wanda Wood, and Debbie Goff; seven grandchildren, Josh, Koda, Ashley, Kendra, J.C., Chavez, and Aaron; and fourteen grandchildren.
A funeral and committal service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2021, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, with Pastor James Walls officiating, and speaker Tracy Puckett. The grandchildren and Steven Wynegar will serve as honorary pallbearers. Guests may visit with the family following the service until 3:00 PM. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
