Ruby Lee White, age 88, of Glade Spring, Va., passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born May 18, 1927, to the late Lee Henry Wright and Ada Loretta West Wright in Saltville, Va. She faithfully attended Glade Spring Baptist Church and was an avid flower gardener.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Franklin Wiz White. She is survived by two sons, Rickey White and wife Robin of Fort Mill, S.C. and Olen White and wife Aaron of Cumming, Ga.; brother, Otis Wright and wife Nancy of Saltville, Va.; sister, Helen Martin of Bristol, Tenn.; and granddaughter, Christie Walden and husband Bobby of Bristol, Va.; three great grandchildren, Kimberly Widner, Anthony Walden, and Kasey Walden; three great-great grandchildren, Daniel, Kensley, and Liam Widner; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert W. Blankenship officiating. A committal service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 10th at Mt. Rose Cemetery where Randy Thompson, Tommy DeBusk, Brad Crabtree, Ron Tallman, Zach DeBusk, and Tony Surber will serve as pallbearers. James Crabtree, Phil Topa, Pico Norris, and Tony Rector will serve as honorary pallbearers.
