Dateline: Meadowview, VA – Russell Allen “Fuzzy” Fields, age 64, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 26, 1950, to the late Ollie B. Fields and Eva Harrison Fields. Fuzzy retired from American Electric Power as an auto mechanic. His hobbies included building hot rods, drag racing, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Karah Marie Thomas; and his mother and father-in-law, Ollie Marie Taylor Barrett and Hugh Douglas Barrett. Fuzzy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bettye Barrett Fields of the home; son, Jason A. Fields and wife Danielle of Bristol, TN; daughter, Kelli M. Thomas and husband Aaron “Buck” of Abingdon, VA; brother, Jackie Fields and wife Linda of Lebanon, VA; sister, Helen “Penny” Elane and husband Don of Lebanon, VA; three grandsons, Dominic and Hunter Fields, and Tripp Thomas; granddaughter, Morgan Thomas; and several special nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by a cousin “brother”, Smokey Fields and wife Wanda of Lebanon, VA. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with the Rev. Paul Ketron officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1st, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
