Ruth Evelyn Lamie, 75, loving wife, mother and sister, passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at her home.
She was born March 21, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Charles Henry and Willie Belle McFadden Nunley. She loved all animals and her farm, especially her best friend, her cat Sheba Ann.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Eugene Lamie; brothers, Howard Leonard Nunley and John Henry Nunley and sisters, Ida Bell Puckett and Dora Francis Duncan.
Survivors include her son, Sherman C. Lamie and Ronna Blevins; sister, Lillie Loucille Nunley; brother, Ernest Theodore Nunley and several nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to extend special thanks to Darleen Guinn for all her loving care; Roy and Lillian McNew, Northgate Pharmacy, Wilson Pharmacy, Abingdon Ambulance Service, Abingdon Dialysis, JMH Home Healthcare and Matt Odum at Mediserv Equipment.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 7, 2011 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Darrell Watson and Jeff Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dean Henderson, Wayne Turley, Mike Reynolds, Rick Korrell, Randy Moore and Billy Joe Guinn. Honorary pallbearers are Everett Caudill, Stafford Keith, Chad Myers, John Guinn and Steve Powers.
The family will be receiving friends at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, November 6, 2011.
