Sammy Mack Boyd

Meadowview, VA – Sammy Mack Boyd, age 79, passed on Friday, November 17, 2023, at his home.  Sammy was a life-long resident of Meadowview and attended Yellow Springs United Methodist Church.  He was a pipeline mechanic for over 35 years and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. 

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Annie Victoria Atkins Boyd; first wife, Nellie Terry Boyd; brothers, Bill and Allen Boyd; and sister, Mary Ann Fuller.

He is survived by his wife, Billy Snyder Boyd; three sons, Rick Boyd and wife Kim of Abingdon, VA, Shawn Boyd and Kara Murray of Piney Flats, TN, and Dennis Bryant and wife Jenny of Abingdon, VA; two sisters, Doris Maiden of Abingdon, VA and Carol Jones of Emory, VA; three grandchildren, Brooke, Brittany, and Hannah Boyd; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, in the Main Street location of Farris Funeral Service.  A private graveside service will be held in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Kenny Bolling and Rev. Dale Myers officiating.
