Sarah Loretta McCann

Abingdon, VA – Sarah Loretta McCann, age 89, passed on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Mrs. McCann grew up in Big Stone Gap, VA and was a long-time employee of Gordon Garments. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. McCann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Veda Carter Frasier; husband, Clarence McCann; daughter, Sandra White; stepson, Larry McCann; and sisters, Juanita Gilmer and Mildred Self.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda Greer and husband Carl, Patricia Grindstaff and husband Mark, and Cynthia Norris and husband Burl; step children, Tommy McCann, Imogene Price, Nancy Gibson and husband William, and Stevie McCann; sister, Debby Curry; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
