Scott Allan Tyler, 41, passed away Tuesday, December 3. Scott was a 1996 graduate of Oak Hill High School and later attended West Virginia University where his love for WV Mountaineer football began. Scott’s career started in the automotive industry with the family businesses Blackburn Ford and Mountaineer Automotive, and was recently employed in management with Wallace Nissan.
Scott was born September 17, 1978 the son of Keith Tyler and the late Linda Blackburn. He was born and raised in Oak Hill/Beckley, WV until making Bristol, Tenn. his home in 2012.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Evelyn Blackburn, and paternal grandparents, Clearance and Cora Tyler. He is survived by his loving wife, Christina Sargent Tyler of the home; sons, Austin Hess and fiancée Jessica Dolinger of Bristol, Tenn. and Blake Hess and fiancée SR Julia Mazzella of Martin, TN; brother Keith “Bodie” Tyler and wife Angel of Beckley, WV; special nephew and niece, SSG Shawn Sargent and Samantha Sargent; unborn granddaughter, Piper-Jane Alana Hess; his beloved dog Dax; the absolute light of his world, his niece Skyli Danielle Sargent; and a host of loved aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends, and co-workers.
Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Bristol Campus of Highlands Fellowship Church, 134 Commerce Ct., Bristol, Va. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Thomas officiating. A committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 in the Serenity Gardens Mausoleum of Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends will gather at the Bristol Campus of Highlands Fellowship Church by 10:30 a.m. to travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be SSG Shawn Sargent, Jonathan Ketron, Lee Moulse, Gary Blackburn, Mark Blackburn, Zachary Sykes, and Dennis Blackburn.
