Abingdon, Va.
Sharleen Joyce Hout Miller, 76, went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Always with a servant’s heart and quiet strength, she lived a life devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She modeled her life after her mother, Lucinda “Pearl” Hout Friggins.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, RC Miller; her precious children: Michele Carpenter (Dale), Mike Miller (Rhonda), and Shawn Miller (Crystal); grandchildren: Elizabeth Oliver-Smith (William), Mykal Miller, Olivia Oliver, Drew Miller, Zoe Miller, Laken Miller, and Amber Carpenter; and two great-grandchildren: Ingrid Smith and Silas Dean. She was loved by a large extended family on both sides, especially sister-in-law, Karin Hout of Massachusetts.
The family would like to thank her beloved neighborhood friends who have shared life together for many years. Also, they offer a heartfelt thank-you to the Bristol Hospice team for their special care during this time.
A celebration of Sharleen’s life will be held at Abingdon United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 8, 2018. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with the service following at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Robert Countiss.
